University Games

The University Games are a series of sports in the University holidays
that are set up as a social and competitive competition. There are two
games events the Eastern University Games (for universities within NSW)
and the Australian University Games (for teams from all universities
within Australia and sometimes teams from New Zealand). Sydney Uni has
been one of the dominant Eastern University Games volleyball teams with
either a medal in the men’s or women’s competition every year for
the last 5 years. There are also a number of students that have been
selected in merit teams at the Eastern University Games. At the Australian
University Games there is a much stronger level of competition and Sydney
University regularly sees teams in the top 4 positions. In 2007 Sydney
Uni saw both the men’s and women’s teams receiving medals as well
as a number of students gaining selection in the “Green and Gold”
merit team for their performance in the competition.
